Being With Those

As the hymn says:
Preserve me oh God
For I take refuge in You
I say to Jehovah, You are my Lord

You are my Lord
No good have I beyond You
As for the saints who are on the earth
They are the excellent
All my delight is in them

2 Timothy 2:22 says
But flee youthful lust and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace with
those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

The young people of today in the Lord’s recovery must have the desire to flee and pursue. Fleeing is a matter of pursuing and pursuing is a matter of fleeing. One cannot afford to flee youthful lust by his or her own effort. He or she can only flee by pursuing the Lord.

This pursuing and fleeing  is a matter of being with those; with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. Now, what is an indication that we call on Him out of a pure heart? One indication is that, we call on Him not because we’re having a hard time in school, or maybe we’re taking a board exam or major exam, but rather we call on Him because He is worthy to be called; because for us, He is just so lovely and we cannot help but call on Him.

Saints, especially the young people, we need to change our attitude towards calling upon the Lord’s name. We must call on Him not because we badly need Him, but we call on Him because we love Him and we want to enjoy His presence –  His very person.

OH LORD JESUS! Lord, we love You! We call on You to tell You that we cannot live without You!

Gradually, spontaneously, and constantly, by being with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart, together we can flee youthful lust and pursue CHRIST.
